He didn't play them games with Mack 10 or gillie

that doesn't mean he didn't ATTEMPT to play that game with them :mjpls:

remember...Gillie said the main reason he fell out and started dissing the CASH MONEY camp was due to the fact he felt insulted that BIRDMAN offered to buy his publishing for like 70k inspite of the fact Gillie has a gang of ghostwriting and songwriting credits under his belt during his tenure with the Cash Money clique...

But the fact that BIRDMAN wasn't succesful in finessing Gillie Mack 10 and the Zoes was due to the fact of them being SMART BUSINESSMEN whom not only could avoid getting swindled but were also SELF SUFFICIENT....gillie and mack always were getting money...Mack himself made a nice lil grip on the independent dvd movie scene.....

and we all know the ZOES were ultimate hustlers who didn't need a rap check ...

so it's about being self sufficient more than anything so you WON'T feel the need to RELY on the Birdman "birdfeeding" you with crumbs like artists such as Wayne have become

the same could be said about the late great r&b artist TEENA MARIE a smart BUSINESSWOMAN as well..she signed to CASH MONEY long after her prime and was able to get them to RELEASE AN ALBUM by her simply because she included a "Time release clause" in her contract basically stipulating that they had to release an album within a certain timeframe or they had no choice but to RELEASE (FREE) her from all obligations of the label....

so Birdman knew better than to play with Teena...this OG was the same one whom took MOTOWN to court over missing royalties and exploitive tactics back in the day...her lawsuit changed the game and basically showed artists that record moguls and labels can be held accountable for wrongdoings...

unfortunatly.....many artists are ignorant to this...

smart move...something that Wendy Day has advocated all artists should be doing....Tru Life did it as well when he was with Roc Nation prior to his incarceration...

Unfortunatly somebody didn't give Lil Wayne that memo.....because he relied on the same lawyer that Cash Money had all those years he been on the label :mjlol:

but hey they GAME IS TO BE SOLD...not TOLD :manny:

and artists like Teena Marie...Mack 10 and Gillie paid the costs to be the BOSS so they won't get hoe'd around like most "artists" (employees) that birdman comes in contact with

I love that "Still In love" track from that album. You're right. Baby can manipulate dudes that don't know any better.

Wayne shoulda kept his ass in school when he went to college and maybe he could've learned something and not be in this situation.

Wasnt the Mack 10 contract the reason juvie left. He seen Mack 10 getting paid and they wasn't?
