Black people are waking up consciously and these rappers are gonna be questioned more and more about the content of their music. Its not "just entertainment". This music is being used to keep the most negative stereotypes of black people at the forefront of society's consciousness

Problem is I'm sure if Birdman signed 100 conscious rappers, 99 of them wouldn't make it past the gatekeepers of the soundwaves even with the new internet age. A guy like Chance gets all the underground push in the world but nowhere near the same notoriety as a Future. If We Are The World dropped today with the same allstar lineup, it would be recycling bin jokes by 3PM PST.
