Y’all UF fans lukewarm AF on this hire but Napier did a great job at ULL and I low key wanted him at LSU if we couldn’t get Aranda back and we got neither. Kelly is a solid stability type hire that will get us back in the hunt, I’ll reserve judgement and grade the hire 3-4 years when he has his own recruits, coaching staff, and culture he wants completely in place.
Napier only lost 2 games in the last 2 years at ULL and had ULL competing against good teams.
I like young coaches like him with upside, but most ADs want to make the splashy hire of an already established guy. I think y’all did good. I might eat crow on this.

I'm just reserving judgment on him because I don't know anything about him other than he's a great recruiter and a so-so offensive coach. I've been reading that the reason he was winning at ULL was because the talent he recruited was simply better than the competition. That can't really work in the SEC anymore. But as long as he brings in the recruits & has a solid staff developing these kids, then it should be fine.
It'll be interesting to see how LSU/UF will be in the next 3-4 years. We passed on Brian Kelly & you guys passed on Napier.
This is a Jeremy Pruitt Butch Jones type hire. Tired I'd Florida going cheap. This dude has no passing offense and barely beats shyt teams. I see other Florida fans saying he's doing great while already running off recruits and players.
