I'm sure we can do away with all this unnecessary condescending talk.

"You become the person you want to be, you do the things that are important for you to become that, and you demand the respect of who you are."

He just gave y'all the playbook but most of you completely ignored it while simultaneously proving his point about black folks tearing each other down. I thought The Root was about enlightenment though.

Some of you guys are damaged beyond repair.

He went to a predominantly white school in Denver. This whole "We are own worst enemies" shyt is so played out. Buddy works in finance he could have brought up how racist the old boys club is, whites refusing to have a black man handle their money, etc...

All of this is irrelevant to his point though.

He can hold multiple views.

N!gga posted a 50 min video with no cliffs or timestamps. N!ggas got lives my brotha, and it's Friday too? :rudy:
N!ggas got work, errands, class, meetings..nobody has time on a Friday morning to just pause their life for 50mins to watch a youtube vid on the Coli :mjlol:

Dude is giving you knowledge to build off of.

Like I said in another thread...black folks have enough money and resources, but not the motivation to implement a black agenda based economic plan

Imagine if breh hooked up with Dr. Anderson and Dr. Watkins

Why don't you hook up with them?

Isn't this rich dork married to a White pornstar?
Just because he's wealthy doesn't mean anything he says outside of business has any merit.
He grew up with two Black PhD parents in a upper-middle class Black neighborhood and went to the Ivies, he has almost no real experience with the majority of the Black community or the struggles of the people.
He could just as easily have created a "good ol' boys" club at his investment firm hiring from Morehouse, Howard, Spelman and Xavier of LA, but he hasn't.
:camby:

If by playbook you mean acquiring companies, forcing the employees to sign a draconian 2 year non-compete if they want to keep their job, and then systematically fire them (regardless of performance) over two years and replacing them with younger/cheaper individuals.

The playbook is to see black men with an appetite for intellectual discourse, ownership, and economic empowerment.
