I respect Kurtis Blow as one of the rappers that helped bring HipHop to mainstream but he don’t deserve to be on anybody top 50 list. His biggest songs he got the hooks and production carried him. Who the hell raps along to a Kurtis Blow verse?

They know :wow:

we already know who will be the top 5:russell: but they should be 6 and 7 on this list …even though they both top 3 in the streets eyes

This same mentality is ultimately why rappers like Redman, Kane, etc. are being ranked low on this list. The further we move away from the respective eras that they were influential in, the lower they will rank. Kane didn't exactly transition gracefully into the 90's as an LL, Rakim, or a G. Rap (who basically was the template for mid 90's NY Hip Hop in regard to the whole mafiosos style dominating).

There's Redman, that had a crazy run in the 90's, but was pretty much absent from 2001-2006. He put out an album in 2007, but do we really discuss Red Gone Wild like that. Meanwhile, Ghost's Fishscale and even Big Doe Rehab from that era still get brought up.

Top ten looking spooky yet predictable at the same time.

10. Nikki
9. Biggie
8. Drake
7. Kendrick
6. Snoop
5. Pac
4. Wayne
3.Eminem
2.Jay/Nas
1.Jay/Nas

I think the list will look something like this tho it is not my personal list but just trying to use their criteria to rank the MCs left.
It's vibe so expect pac at 1

I wouldn't get my hopes up. The last list Vibe published had Eminem at #1. I don't agree with Eminem being #1 or even Top 10 at this point in his career, but given their criteria, this is how I see their list going in regard to Top 5:

1. Eminem
2. Pac
3. Jay
4. Nas
5. Biggie

^^^ they may swap Biggie and Nas with Biggie being 4 and Nas being 5. Considering it's half Billboard as well, I wouldn't be shocked.

Yeah some of those guys should be here but not at Cole's expense imo. There's a lot of names on here that I'd be kicking before him. There's a few on here who are only here for nostalgic reasons, one hit wonders or because they meet the female quota.

Joey Badass would be on here too if it was up to me :yeshrug:
There are plenty of names I would kick out.

And he was ranked higher than KRS who is considered by many the GOAT. This is trolling because nobody in Hip Hop checks these trolls anymore.

Anybody who ranks Kurtis Blow over guys like G Rap, Krs, Red, Meth, Busta, Chuck D, etc. should never be allowed to write on this subject ever again.

They even mention storytelling as one of criterias but can't include Slick Rick who's also miles ahead of Kurtis Blow.

It's like as if he paid to be featured on this list.

Billboard is about sales...So Eminem or Drake will be #1....Why do you think 50 is so high...record sales.

Also...Why do yall care so much about who the publications think the top rappers of all time are?..... Stop giving them so much Power/Credibility.

It's not about caring or things like that. It's how dangerous these publications are, because plenty of people who are just starting to get into music are reading these. It adds more into mediocrity that we've been having in this genre.

I bet they wouldn't disrespect Rock music like that. They would never put a legend like Jimi Hendrix outside of top 10, but in here they're allowed to pick mediocrity over quality.

The way cacs and hipsters see Big Boi is so fukking weird. Do they have a version of Outkast records without him or some shyt.....

He outrapped Andre on Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik not even debatable and it was close on ATLiens but I think more (who aren't purely Andre dikkriders) would probably say Big Boi got the better of more of the songs.

Andre really only started separating himself with Aquemini. Then he had Stankonia where Big Boi still got the better of some of those tracks I mean BOB is one of their biggest records and Big Boi got em. Then they had the half and half.

And again Big Boi had a actual solo career. SLLF wasn't just a solo debut it was one of the best rap records of 2010. Did great critically and commercially and Big Boi has other good solos too... Meanwhile they reduced to talkin bout Andre features lol.... That wasn't even a criteria. These nikkas retarded.
