Cosby was still selling the "family man" image so he coudln't take his case to the streets.

DA fukked him over. They took an out of context quote from his sealed testimony and portrayed it as a confession. Another prosecutor said the DA could probably go to jail for doing that at the time of course nothing happened.

And they got him to waive his 5th amendment rights by telling him they wouldn’t prosecute him criminally.

Bill Cosby had accusations coming out against him from women who were coming forward in the 90s. Janice dikkinson wrote about what he did to her in her autobiography. The publishers made her take it out not because they didn’t believe her but because they didn’t want to be black listed. No one affiliated with Cosby would publish memoirs with their publishing house and Janice and other people they were working with wouldn’t be interviewed on networks that supported Cosby. Beverly Johnson talked about what happened with him several times and she was brushed aside. She was also labeled as crazy and vindictive and just wanting to knock a black man down because she was dating wealthy white men.

Hannibal Burress wasn’t the first comedian to mention what Cosby did, DL had made jokes about it before, so did other black comedians for decades. Hannibal just said it in front of whites people with cell phones then people started taking it seriously.
