 stay safe out there bruh.

Other than the floods though, whats the biking situation out there looking like?
Houston a bike friendly city?
any off roading/trail riding at all?

There are tons of parks, trails, and biking groups out here:manny:

Not as bike friendly as Austin in the center, but plenty of places to go to to bike:ehh:

I have been riding for years

I was prob at my leanest when I was commuting by bike in NYC. GOAT biking city :mjcry:

I do bike now though. I have a road bike. I try to do about 30 miles a week. Bout to turn up for this cut :demonic:

:usure:

Minneapolis & Seattle are far better biking cities, by like leaps and bounds.

I bike 10-30 miles a day in the summer whenever the weather is right. One of my favorite things in the world. Logged 2000 miles last summer. Sometimes get together with a group and do a 20 mile bike bar crawl. shyt is dope.

Full disclosure, I have only ridden bikes in NYC and Charlotte :sadcam:

So I haven't had a bike since my last year's of high school, which was a 20 inch bmx bike. I'm 29 now and 6'3. I've been wanting a road bike for ahtmlver since I saw this guy keeping pace with traffic on this road in my town. Anyway, I'm not tryina do no Lance Armstrong shyt but I wouldn't mind this being supplementary to my working out.

700C Bicicleta 14 Speeds 60MM Wide Rim TL ™ Aluminium Alloy Frame Double Disc Brake Bend Handlebar Road Bike 2016 - $469.99

Here's one I saw recently that I really like. It's almost $500 which I don't think is a lot. Definitely better than the 8k one I saw at the shop last time I looked for one. Really like the style of it as well. Now I consulted some of my boys that are into this and they think I shouldn't because they know I'm not about to be riding around in that spandex and say they're uncomfortable due to the positioning on it. Thoughts breh brehs.

My white friends been hyping the twin-cities to me for years but I never took 'em seriously.

I need to buy you a drink and kick game with you one of these days (or PM you since we likely don't live anywhere close to each other). :salute:

I don't know what this brand is...

I like to get bikes from BikesDirect.com.... I bought my wife's bike from there and have a lot of friends who race BD bikes. Really good for the $$$$ too, you can get a decent road bike for like $400 shipped.

Save Up To 60% Road Bikes - Windsor Wellington 2.0 2015

Save Up to 60% Off Road Bikes, Roadbikes - Mercier Galaxy AL

Road Bikes - Dawes Lightning DLX

Just have to put it together yourself or take it to a bike shop. If you are mechanically inclined at all it's very easy

I didn't think much of Saint Paul - wack ass downtown, a few decent restaurants, one interesting neighborhood, a lot of suburban sprawl. Minneapolis, on the other hand, reminded me of NYC in the 80s in that everyone lived on top of each other, much more integrated than other cities right now (which still isn't saying much). The city is full of young people, it generously funds the arts, it has top notch dining (several James Beard winners and a diversity of cuisine due to the large Vietnamese and East African refugee population over the years) you can bike all over on pathways and greenways, beautiful parks, several lakes to bike, jog, or stroll around, a great bar scene, and relative to other cities Minneapolis is very progressive in its attitudes and politics. Summer in Minneapolis is off the fukkin charts. The one drawback, of course, is winter - brutally cold. I didn't find it to be that terrible, because I've done east coast and midwest winters, and winter is winter to me whether it's -10 or -30 degrees. But if you like those west coast mild winters, Minneapolis ain't for you.

Sounds a bit like DC (international city, young demographic, progressive, etc.).

Much appreciated. Dropping gems like Dexter Gordon in Paris...
