Charlotte isn't as bad a problem as Tessa is.
For all of the failings of ol' Ashley, she's physically imposing compared to the women the E employs, and given that company's apprehension about melaninated talent, she's easily the better worker of the white 4HW - Charlotte is a better wrestler than Becky, do not care, fight me.
Tessa on the other hand is every mid-tier Big Swole-level wrestler from the Indy scene, and if she didn't have the name appended to her, she'd be somewhere in Central Michigan letting Priscilla Kelly gyrate on her Bruce Campbell-ass chin for a high-five and a happy meal.
That she's on camera on a company that was televised pinning men bigger than her with her moves, and went on to become a world's champion - not women's, but
general world's champion - in that very company wasn't because of her work. That the controversy came out about her before and they pulled the trigger anyways...
Ok. Let's take a step back. Let's say, Sasha finna win her first women's title. And suddenly, Santana Garrett and Mercedes Martinez pop up on twitter talmbout how Sasha shat in their bags and called them wops/wetbacks or some bullshyt, right? You think Sasha finna get that look? Hell the fukk no. Sasha finna be on Main Event jobbing to Dana Brooke for a couple months while they try and make that all disappear. Toys getting marked down at walmart, her 2k rating getting ten knocked off it, and they gonna drag Bayley down with her by having them both lose a handicap match to Tamina.
Tessa had half the indy women's scene come at her right before she was supposed to win a match that, realistically, she shouldn't have been the one to win off-rip if it weren't for her pedigree. And Impact doubled down.
Taya looks like a chick you don't run afoul of, because even if he could beat her ass, her and her skrong jaw look like maybe she eats that first punch and goes right for the manbusiness with her nails. Jordynne stocky box-built ass definitely can clean and jerk -
- a nikka her fiance' size at the bare minimum, so if you gonna have a chick in there with dudes, at least someone who looks like they might be able to pull even with those dudes' warm-up in the gym would be advisable. But we're putting top titles on 5'6/130 women with no ground game and no strength means something? Ronda wouldn't run a fade with Big E and I guarantee it, and that woman was a UFC fighter. But we got Tessa out here in the ring with Cage?!
Wouldn't have happened if her name was Tessa Rotunda. Wouldn't have happened if her name was Tessa Shango. Wouldn't have happened if her name was Tessa Huffman. Hell, I'mma go the extra mile: it wouldn't have happened if her name was Tessa Blanchard and her mother never got with Magnum. The double-dip of those two names in her lineage got her everywhere she's gotten, and probably is exactly the reason she was such a bytch to all those other women - because she had both them old motherfukkers in her ear telling her about how to control a locker room and how to act like a star instead of someone,
anyone telling that ho how to act like a
human being.
A few years ago, she was barely anything but her last name and she was Ricochet's girlfriend.
If she'd gotten that Rachael Evers(Ellering)/Michael McGillicutty(Joe Hennig) treatment where they strip you of your legacy and your family last name... you think she does anything that could be called historic? fukk no.
Her name got her in positions her talent didn't, and her background got things ignored that would have burned bridges and damn near gotten her blacklisted clean out the thing she's doing. She's not a snug worker, has no great spots, and is anathema to anyone with a budget and real, weekly TV now because of what she's done, but she's still someone's world champion because someone in power was a mark for someone who raised her, not caring about
how they raised her.
Impact literally looked at a shytstorm of negative publicity from
other women in her industry about her toxicity, Kanye-shrugged and gave her their top title. The same title ostensibly heldm by Sting, Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and
not held by Kazuchika Okada, Christopher Daniels, crazy-ass Scott Steiner, and many others.
man... I think it's time to have the conversation on if Impact's existence was a net negative to pro-wrestling as a whole. I loved the Joe/AJ/Daniels matches as much as the next nikka, and man, I was good with the Angle/Joe build and match... but between this ho, the Canadian Destroyer becoming goddamned clothesline tier, Claire Lynch, the rise of Dixie Carter as a TV character and everything involving the Hogan/Bischoff era... I think that maybe Impact is softshoe-tier. They are setting back the very industry they want to bring attention to by existing, and their net...
impact on the industry is overwhelmingly negative.
Got sativa yadda yadda, got the flu yadda yadda, I been on both kind of meds. So this shyt went long. But I mean
every word.
Tessa shoulda just fell back, planned a PR rebuild and taken all the criticism on the chin. She has enough of it.
