Died too soon. Never lived up to his potential because he was killed

the first verse he spit on a studio album was back in 92, and he got killed in 99.

now compare what big l did in his first 7 years to what Nas, Rakim, Cube, Biggie, Redman, Scarface did in their first 7 years?

He was pretty good but nothing special in the first place.

Nah. That crown belongs to either Nas or Rakim or even Jay-Z (according to MTV)

L one of my favourites, but when you put it like that it's hard to disagree. :manny:

I don't put too much time into considering delivery, flow, multis etc when rating rappers/emcees. I enjoy what I enjoy and that's it, and this dude one of the best to listen to in my opinion.

Cam is the greatest rapper from Harlem.

Including everything from lyrics, wordplay, multis, songs, albums, cultural impact (Bringing us the Dips, rocking Pink, Introducing us to Heatmakerz and "powerful music", etc)....it aint even close. Cam is #1 from Harlem.

He's top 3 imo. Lyrically, metaphorically, word play, flow...this guy would give anyone that business...

The only cat I'm not too sure about is a young nasty nas...but L would have eaten anyone else up any time.

The only thing he's missing is a clearly defined resume...

But when you hear songs like Devils Son, Times is Hard, School Dayz, and a few others ....which all should have been on his first album...he's definitely way ahead of 99.99% of emcees.

I have a ton of old songs on cassett and unreleased songs...there's even a few where he and Lord Finesse are just flowing....and as good as Finesse and even as L's mentor...even he knew he wasn't fukkin with L.

And the Big Picture shyts on just about anything...

:wow: that second verse is the best written freestyle I ever heard..
