Who wants to see a big l movie in 2020 outside of new york

When white boy (and girl) Mac Miller stans saw the Big L tattoo it ushered in a new wave. His popularity has been steadily increasing the last decade.

Additionally, the story of Harlem, 90's is popular, his death, the brothers, NFL crew, the betrayal, friends become not friends etc. There's a screenplay there, albeit it will be dumbed down most likely into some fairy flossy bullshyt like NWA.

I can’t picture a BIG L documentary/ movie being made, feels like it’s been 20 years in the making. It’s unfortunate but just don’t see it happening. Even that mass appeal trailer came and went.

Not good when they have an open casting call for virtually every character ..including the main character in which they are telling you to youtube search BIG L as research

It rings alarm bells concerning overall production quality.

Studios generally green light productions based off a percentage system, much like an id check etc.

If there's a bankable actor(s)/talent attached, whether a bankable director is involved goes a long to determining whether or whether not the film will garner funding to be produced.

With such a blanket casting call being offered it doesn't fill you with confidence regarding the budget or financiers.

That being said, a low budget, self contained, independent betrayal of Big L life would be more interesting than the glossy Hollywood treatment.

Neither seem to be the case here unfortunately.

A medium budget documentary has just been finished, complex or some shyt like that.

DITC not involved.
