Shiiett, I remember the exact moment when I first heard Krit wuz here, 9 years ago.

Just finished my junior year at A&T, and was staying with my grandpa & grandma for the summer. Saw that it had dropped, then hit up the b-ball courts across the streets from their house, and listened to that tape while shooting hoops until the late night. That tape was and is still amazing

Maaaaaaaane

I had just learned about Krit through this blog, wanna say it was Shrimp n Grits or some sh1t, but I can’t remember. They were saying he sounded like Trap Muzak/I’m Serious Tip, who was my fav rapper at the time. It was prolly sophomore yr of college.

I heard Hometown Hero and immediately was hooked. This when the video had just dropped through Creative Control and it was on the Last King mixtape BEFORE Krit Wuz Here. Off the strength of that song and mixtape, I went back and listened to all the See Me on Tops and Hood Fame.

When Krit Wuz Here actually dropped I thought it was fake because it came outta nowhere and the artwork was BASIC as fukk for back then. CLASSIC.

I honestly believe BIG SANT has the hardest album intro verse of the decade...
