Yesterday was the 3 year anniversary and it was great seeing people on Twitter give it the love it deserves
. I think it’s status as a classic is not even debatable anymore.
What I love most about this album is the clear thought and attention to detail. Much like TPAB (my fav rap album ever) it’s more than ‘good beat, great 16, good hook, rinse and repeat for 20 tracks’ this is a musical album. He incorporated many elements of southern black music (southern hip hop, trap, blues, jazz, R&B, Gospel) and even spoken word yet it’s all so cohesive.
Me personally it’s his best project period and the 3rd best double disc hip hop album after AOEM & Life After Death. He really poured his soul into this especially on the 2nd disc. Bury Me In Gold damn near brought me to tears first time I heard it
2nd best album closer after 13th floor
