this is so dope.
KRIT has released seven albums now between retail and free projects, and six of them are 4/5 stars or better, IMO. The other is 3.5. Most rappers period don't have numbers that good, much less many peers. It's sad because this new music industry format pressured him to release all those free projects so early. Imagine if he waited two years between a couple of of these albums instead of one year - then he has a career that at least spans 10-12 years
But Live From The Underground was dissed because it wasn't as good as the three free projects before it, since he couldn't use samples or get great cameos. Crazy how much we hold up the retail project to mean so much more than the free even though they're all full projects of original music.
Cadillactica evolved his sound perfectly, but it felt like it was too late in terms of his public perception, despite him dropping another dope free project the year before that
Dude is one of the few rappers who legitimately has a case to be called underrated. Dude has put in the work, and he comes correct every time. You're never going to get a trash project from him
This. Him and Rick Ross constantly put out mixtapes I'd buy. So even if I don't like the album, i'ma support off the strength of the mixtapes.
