Took the kid to see it. Little man had the "Got tears pouring down my face but Im gonna stay tough around Dad" thing going. I told him its all good, take the movie in and feel what you wanna feel.

But the villain though....His whole style was on point.

Sidenote for the grown ups. This is ole girl that did Honey Lemon's voice.

....yes, the skinny blonde white girl

They kinda gave away his older brother's death in the commercials. It was his brother's robot and his brother wasn't in any previews. Once I saw his brother I was like he's gonna get :dead:

Didn't even think about walking out once
:whoo:

Movie was great. I laughed every time they did the fist bump joke. Got a little choked up near the end when Baymax kept asking Hiro if he was satisfied with his healthcare. :mjcry:

Gogo was kinda thick for an Asian :shaq:

Cornfields, cows, & an one stoplight town
This movie was wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised by the deeper sentimentality and message about death and revenge. I really wasn't expecting any of that. I cried a few times and laughed a lot more. I agree with an earlier poster who said he was surprised that these were Japanese and/or mixed race characters. That was refreshing to see. I also loved the hybrid fantasy/reality and culture mixing they did. I disagree with some critics who said the story line was tired and formulaic. Cliches exist for a reason. They are tried and true tropes, and although this particular trope was familiar, it wore new clothing and came with some fancy new tricks in the form of amazingly creative ideas about technology and preserving the memory of our loved ones. I really loved it.

5 out of 5.

Should I see this in 3d?

Nah, I don't think it would enhance the movie that much. JMO though.

it was good

i really really loved the first act.

but the subsequent acts weren't as good

i know it's based on some source material but . . it felt at times like an odd mashups of how to train your dragon and the incredibles

and dragon had way better flying shots

and i knew he was gonna come back after his death too cuz like i said disney hasn't had balls since 94

still a 7 for me overall but coulda been a 9
