Plus TSC hated him at first because he came on the roster squashing all the black wrestlers. :mjpls:
Who was he feuding with in 2014? I remember him facing big e and jack swagger, but the rest of his feuds are kinda fuzzy in my memory. I called it 2 weeks after his debut they were solely building him up so Cena could beat him at Wrestlemania in 2015. My sentiment was that he’s basically serving the same role Umaga had in 2006. By the fall of 2014 he’d improved a lot and was improvising very well. I really noticed it during the segment where the flag didn’t open all the way and he flipped out as a result.

NO CASS DON'T GRAB HER ARM! *Grabs arm, gets fired*

Did you really feel the need to include a picture of just Carmella's arm with your post? :_russo:

Re: Rusev

People looked at Rusev as Koslov 2.0 right out of the gate. He didn't have a stanbase around here during his initial build up for a loss to Cena. He was just a not terrible, generic heel. He didn't even speak English for a long time. Rusev is a monumental talent but no one was seeing that during the Alexandre Rusev days or the Rusev as herald of Vladamir Putin days. It took some time for eyes to open up.
I'll be honest and tell you I didn't fukk with Rusev until the Lana split and a lot of posters at Uproxx didn't fukk with him either they viewed him as a retread of Umaga. People started to turn around when it leaked that Cena was going to end his undefeated streak and personally I still didn't care. During the split he showed his ability to emote and the awkward comedy and WWE was so bad at telling their story they made Rusev look like the good guy despite being the heel. Lana breaks up with him and gets with a co-worker the same night, proceeds to show up during his matches for no reason, tried to rewrite history and claim Rusev controlled her even though it was clearly the other way around. WWE's bad story writing constantly made Rusev the good guy by default like we were supposed to cheer Enzo over him for propositioning the guys wife and the only reason to boo him was because he was patriotic to his home country?

Yes to emphasize what Big Cass did.

Stop simping. We've already been over the fact that Bill Bhatti the neckbeard Ducktales master made this up for his Patreon in the other thread. Meltzer, Keller nor Johnson have reported this.

I don't remember us hating him, as much as hating WWE for having him go over on Black wrestlers constantly.

I remember more saying that his theme music went hard and simpin for Lana than anything else

Why do y'all keep sayin' this... didn't KO and Zayn beat the fk outta Bryan leading to DB's first match back at Mania? I know it was Shane's feud first, but it was Bryan's storyline/feud just as much.

Nah, he just had one match with KO n Sami and when he was GM he was on their side

So did it lead to him gettin beat up by them, thus leading to a match at WrestleMania that most of us figured it was gonna lead to (which means it wasn't his first feud) or nah?

Meh, @Riley Escobar was stanning dude since day 1, I followed suit once he had a couple of matches on PPV with Big E. It was always a steady rise in fandom for dude, at first it was a realization he was pretty damn good in the ring - the Big E and Swagger matches showed that - and little by little his character work and appearances in UUDD. The Ziggler feud showed how he could make a shytty angle work and from then on everyone at least respected dude and his talent.

His first real feuds were with Big E and Swagger, but he squashed Xavier and R-Truth on PPV before that. He also beat Mark Henry after the Swagger feud ended.
