I'm thinking about taking the splash on the Gold. My lady just got an offer in the mail for the Chase Sapphire Reserve, so we might go the divide and conquer route. That bonus for grocery store purchases is a decision maker for me, since I feel like almost all I do is buy groceries and food, since I'm working from home.
The blue cash preferred 6% cash back on supermarkets could be an option.

It's a solid option, but the 6% caps at $6,000 per year, then defaults to 1%, and the Gold gets 4x points up to $25,000 before it defaults to 1x. We'll ultimately end up spending more than $6000 on groceries per year, so that multiplier looks pretty good.

Makes sense :jbhmm: but what if you maxed the 6% cap then switch to the Amex for everything else?

You’d cover the $250 gold annual fee plus more

You’re really enthusiastic about this card man. No malice, it’s just funny to see.
Only because I’m able to use it to its fullest and it’s the first status card (wife has the CSR card) that I’ve had under my name. Plus it allows me to fkn stunt/do hood rat shyt unlike the other cards with actual spending limits :mjlol:

If you travel and are loyal to a brand the Plat amex + marriott bonvoy chase visa and southwest chase visa is the combo.

Plat for lounges, automatic gold elite marriott status and gold hilton(free suite upgrades) booking fine resorts and hotels with the perks on amex travel, $200 hotel credit, $200 flight credit, $200 uber credit

Marriott bonvoy and southwest for everyday spending....

Campion pass is easily the most valuable flight benefit...

Edit: and for yall flexing here u go brehhh...

:salute: My card is too new to get to $65k. I haven’t checked in a couple weeks but it’s at $50k right now last I checked.

Do you have another card with rotating categories?

you could supplement like 3 months out of the year with another card when it’s categories is 5% cash back on groceries.

I am doing that now with my chase card because I routinely go over the 6k grocery limit for my Amex preferred.

Didn't even look before replying above. I don't, but the lady might add something along those lines to her portfolio. I'm catching a W regardless in this situation, because I'm stepping us up from the best rewards being a Venture card.

Why not get the Amex bonvoy if you have the Amex plat? Seems more logical.
