What’s he exactly supposed to prove now?

What I'm trying to say is that the Steelers will move on from him soon and only a miracle season will keep him as head coach. Coaches get fired half way through a long term contract so what makes you think they'll keep him with one year left. Will see at the end of the season.

NYC (but PGH will forever be home)
Ben was the problem...I only got to your post and replied so if someone said it before me the i digress.

People dont really understand. Ben basically ran the organization. The GM basically admitted as much.

He basically was calling his own plays. I mean, look how the offense moved more effectively when he went down yesterday...

I'm actually excited what Colbert & Tomlin can do without having to be tethered to Ben's erratic style of play/leadership.:manny:

Every star veteran QB gets to call their own plays but when they're not in the game the back up usually has to play a little more conservative and be a game manager rather than a quarterback. It's not just Ben and the Steelers.

Maybe I’m jaded but I think the timing and his statement are suspect. He says he needs the surgery to play at the level he expects. So does he need the surgery to play or not?

Was he hurt before the season?

I don't undertstand them trading a 1st rd pick for a CB when their HOF QB is out for the season and they already traded the backup QB...Seems like a potential bad move.

Something else I noticed about that elbow injury. As soon as he got "hurt" he looked at the sideline not his elbow. :patrice:

There's a difference here though. Ben is finished, he should have retired at the end of the season. We saw the offense move with Rudolph on the field instead of Ben being in there. They let him call all of his own shots and it was a hindrance to the team. With Ben we win maybe 2 games, without him we win at least 7.
