My family definitely didn’t like his image. Most decent folks didn’t think his image was good for her. I remember talking with my aunt about it and I mentioned how he was the most successful Black man in music/hiphop so he was her equivalent in that sense, but my wise, wise aunt said that money isn’t everything and while yes, financially he was successful, look at his image, the music he makes, the videos, etc. A dignified young woman shouldn’t want to be associated with that. And I couldn’t say she was wrong.
If she stayed on the regular, non-famous trajectory her equivalent would’ve been some young Black man at an HBCU from a well-to-do family.
Could’ve been like Sheryl Lee Ralph and married a politician, etc. Or married the son of someone in the industry— like how Lionel Richie got his daughter married off to the son of Lucian Grainge (talk about power move).
Bey could’ve picked a different path…but here we are.
Again- hope he isn’t guilty!
But…this is not a situation a wife should have to deal with.
Facts. Wasn’t the rumor that Kobe was really her first choice?
