Just relistened to Summer Renaissance and while I instantly noticed the Donna Summer sample from I Feel Love - I realized that Mystery of Love by. Mr. Fingers samples it too, as does Fade by. Kanye West - but they've never credited the song.

Yeah I noticed on at least one record, the music was mixed a lot higher than the vocals. I only noticed on my hifi over the ear headphones

It could be intentional tbh. Ballroom and underground house is usually mixed terribly lol

Gotta say whoever figured out how to revive her career and make her THE star needs to be studied. Circa 2011 when Gaga was doing 1mil first week, it looked like Beyonce was about to enter that diminishing returns period where artist sell less and less. Instead 2013 happened and the rest is history.

She made a clear shift to becoming an album artist.

Her albums are now are major events and are very carefully crafted in sound, visuals and narrative. She's one of the last album artists left in the mainstream now.
