I never been a Beyoncé fan but I like the musical direction she’s going on for the new album.

I’m not into country music at all (I’m more of a Blues kinda guy) but I respect her trying to do something different.

And yeah….Country music came from black folks.

Beyonce has never, not ONCE said anything related to wanting to win AOTY. She’s literally NEVER commented on it.


Others (including artists who have won over her) have stated she deserves AOTY. Only three black women in history have ever won AOTY. Beyonce put out the most acclaimed album of the year in 2022 and couldn’t win. She put out one of the most commercially successful albums in 08 and couldn’t win. She literally changed course of the industry and how artists industry-wide go about album rollouts and couldn’t win.


Its not about Beyonce herself and more about other people artists and industry typed pointing out the double standard when it comes to black artists and specifically black women as it pertains accolades and recognition

All these nikkaz saying she wants album of the year clearly don’t know shyt. She been wanting to a country album and the inception of it started with lemonade. The rollout since she started the Reniassnace arc was that act 1 was house act 2 was country and act 3 is going to be R&B.

Enough with this narrative. If she was really trying up her chances for AOTY she would go back to straight pop ala' Single Ladies/Halo era. That era was the only one where she nabbed a general field Grammy Award(Song of the Year, I believe) and it is her worst album by far(Meanwhile 4 barely got anything).

I doubt her doing a country album had anything to do with AOTY. This was already in the works.

It doesn't. These albums have been in works for years. She discussed them all the way back in 2020-2021 and her mother said today that the 16 Carriages song is a few years old.

Not to mention Grammy voters are more likely to penalize Beyoncé for doing Country anyway. When she released Lemonade, an album with multiple genres, you had voters saying she's trying to "rig the system".

She actually performed with Gary Clark Jr. when they tributed Stevie Wonder a few years back.(He comes in at the 5min mark or so)

Beyoncé is much more concerned with her overall legacy than with AOTY nonsense.
You don’t become one of the true indisputable GOATS putting out similar albums over and over. You have to enter and redefine different genres and carve out new sounds repeatedly.
Not saying that she has or will necessarily achieve this goal (though Renaissance was extremely well received) but that’s clearly her intention at this point.
