his stats in the playoffs are as good as anybody's who has played the amount of games he's played though.

This is true, but i've always said its more than just stats. I always remember Peyton not being himself in big games. Just my opinion, that he has always been a big game choker in that pivotal moment. Having said that, Manning is a first ballot HOF and a legend. I've always felt he could have won more with the Colts and his playoff performances over the years are one of the reasons he didn't.

Drew shoulda won the 09' MVP. Looking back tho Indy should've won more then one SB. That team was loaded with talent

peyton has larger body of work by far

but if brees continues his torrid pace, in a few years it will be very very close

Cool story. Doesn't change anything in this argument.

Never said it did :what:

I voted for Drew just cuz I know he'd be getting smashed in this poll but Im just pointing out that in 09 Brees should have won it over Manning.

Obviously Peyton had the better career but Drew since he's been in NO>Peyton from 06-til and thats all I care about.

Even if you do the 2006-now argument, Drew has the gaudy numbers but Peyton has still accomplished more in that span

You know Peyton Manning is still playing right?
what a stupid question to ask :snoop:
what exactly did you want to know ? brees stats now rival those of peyton in his prime. not peyton now.

Like?

Both have been in 2 Conference Championships in that time. Peyton has gone to two Super Bowls in that time to Brees' one. Both have won just one Super Bowl in the time.

2 MVPs > 0

Whether or not you believe Brees should have won an MVP is an entirely different discussion.

read the title of the thread.

read my post again. then think. think more.

their stats are already pretty much similar in terms of averages. career rating, y/g, y/a, completion%, tds/g is dead heat

once drew has more of these NO years in which he dominates yardage and TDs, he will be on par with peyton.

and it doesnt matter whether peyton still playing unless he light it up like he did before for a few years.

did I spell it out clear enough ?

I dont think Peyton is choker in big games, but from watching Peyton play football all his career(watched majority of his games from 1998 on), Peyton clearly over thinks the game in playoffs, whereas Brees and Brady have natural instinct or feel for the game, Peyton has studied to become as good as he is, his greatest strength is literally his greatest weakness, ask any colts fan.

This is what I was trying to say, Peyton is now on pace to have the best season he's had since 04. Even in 2010 before all of the injuries to the team he had one of the greatest starts he's ever had.

My interpretation of the other post was that you were assuming that Peyton was gonna do nothing in the time that Drew is gonna put these great numbers up.
