I thought I read Netflix had got the rights to this last year?
are they getting a new saul, or will it be the same actor. If its a prequel i'm not sure how far back they can go with the story since the guy who plays him is pretty old
i thought it would be better if they focused on him leaving town at the end of season 5, and trying to restart his practice, on the low, for whatever criminals in that town. Has there been a successful prequel to a tv show?
does this take place after the end of breaking bad?
prequel

Is there any reason to prematurely order the second season other than to drum up good publicity around the bad news that it's gotten pushed back?
A cheaper price, I guess.
Breaking Bad producer Peter Gould recently sat down with NY Daily News and discussed the upcoming spin-off Better Call Saul. During the interview, he reveals that it will move back and forth over several decades and that we will possibly see the return of several fan loved characters including Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul).
"One of the great things about having a time line which is flexible is that perhaps some of it takes place before 'Breaking Bad,' during 'Breaking Bad,' and after 'Breaking Bad.' That gives us the ability to bring back characters that were killed on 'Breaking Bad'."
He went on to explain how the show will differ from the original series.
"We want to make a show that stands on it own, is its own story and is a brand extension. We think we have a story that is worth making. ... We could never dream of the kind of success that 'Breaking Bad' had and the love we got from the fans. But, at a certain point you have to do the best job you can and tell the best story that entertains you, get a good response and hope people like it."
He wraps up the interview by expressing his excitement about being picked up for a second season by AMC.
"It's tremendous for us, because we get to plot out two seasons. And the way we work is similar to 'Breaking Bad' as it is very serialized and each episode builds on the last. And that gives us a much bigger canvas to play with."
We better get the back story on Saul and Gustavo
