Yea, people been saying the music rights were the hold up. It sucks but I rather this than the alternative.

I been streaming this shyt non-stop and honestly most the OG music is there. There's only been a few times I've noticed them putting some random shyt in place of the OG's. The picture quality is A1 too, it feels like they remastered it. They did this shyt way better than a show like Moesha for example, which got butchered.

Nah, after rewatching this, the OG music and the last remnants of gritty NYC are what made thi show special cuz the writing/stories and acting is

Show light weight kinda sucks with the new music and substituted performances

I just saw him last night in the prison episode.....later in the 3rd season on Peacock.

Bokeem being Bokeem. Mannerisms, facial expressions, the whole nine.

Episode had multiple names:

Caine from Menace
Sticky Fingaz
A young Regina King

Quality went down during the 3rd season, so it's easy to skip episodes. This is when they tried to shoehorn a new cac detective to appeal to "mass" audiences.

Lowkey Omar from the wire was playing Bokeems goon in this episode too.

I feel like someone from Sopranos or the Wire is in every episode

• Gets suspended fighting at school
• Goes to prep school and has friend carrying weed for big operation
• Rides bike with friend who gets killed and sees who did it/chased by the mob
• Has a friend who killed someone

That being said, you're right...the acting is pretty bad. Especially Malik Yoba. He tries too hard to act cool, but he's almost Terrence Howard/Taye Diggs corny.

But in any case, this show is no different than the run of the mill SVU/CSI, nostalgia’s a MF

That was the main takeaway, damn near the whole cast of the wire came thru there, breh who played young Mike in The Wood, ving rhames, etc

Show is still crack to me, flaws and all...like the times Malik Yoba's stunt double is running around entire face in clear view lol.

I also didn't realize how much a factor the saxophone and horns were in the music back then. I couldn't count all the times there was a scene of someone getting shot, smacked up or overdosing over some Bleeding Gums Murphy wailing notes

Just finished the episode with Danny Up

My man's had his little brother in the lab unsupervised, getting high then one of Danny's henchman straight up smacked the kid. I don't know why but I found that hilarious

I was just thinking of Teddy Pendergrass, I think he was on the 1st or 2nd episode. Classic show, i think time has been kind to this show.

Edit: Seasons 1 and 2 anyway they tried adding more white cops in season 3 IIRC because the ratings were starting to flag.
