I got you, I just wanted that to be clear. I keep hearing people saying "reparations or nothing!" i'm like there are alot of other things we want too. i'd support a candidate who ran on a platform of police reform for example. I can't take the money with me if cacs are still allowed to murder me with impunity.
I understand your POV but I slightly disagree. IMO, reparations would get us closer to police reform compared to police reform getting us closer to reparations. For example, Obama’s police body cams could be viewed under the umbrella of police reform. But the result of this was just black people being murdered on camera. We need a multitude of initiatives to address the ills of North American slavery, but the key driver, and strongest driver, IMO is still reparations.
