Halfway through Coming out Hard for the first time...
shyt is :ohlawd:
First time? Wow. That must be nice. I can still remember hearing Armed Robbery for the first time. shyt had me like :patrice::ohhh::whoo::merchant::whew::ahh: Enjoy that shyt.

Sometimes I wish I could experience the first listen of some shyt again, but then I realize that I wouldn't have had the years and years of enjoying the hell out of it. That's one thing that these threads should hopefully lead to: ppl checking out albums that they either A. wouldn't have checked for when they came out (for whatever reason), or B. weren't alive when they came out. Of course, a very large number of the posters here are close-minded fools when it comes to music, so maybe I'm being too optimistic.

The beat on Armed Robbery was the weakest I thought...on first listen.
I've liked Ball and G since hearing Candy for the first time back in like 96 maybe? Just never got around to picking up the old albums...I'm gonna be 35 later this month, and I grew up in CA, so since Ball & G were local until about 95, I missed out on all their early shyt.
I totally agree with you on the feeling of hearing something for the first time. I can only imagine what it would be like to hear The Infamous for the first time now :wow:

The reason I picked Resurrection over We Can't Be Stopped is mostly because of production and I think some of my favorite GB tracks like The Point Of No Return and Still are on it. Only thing that We Can't Be Stopped has on Resurrection is probably the single Mind Playing Tricks on Me, even tho my favorite on it was always Chuckie. Well also We Can't Be Stopped has a better and more iconic album cover.

Also voted UGK instead of 'Face cuz I simply like more tracks on UGK album. Track streak from One Day to Touched is insane and one of the best in hip hop. So while I Seen a Man Die is a great track it simply doesn't compare with what UGK has to offer on that album, even tho both are great projects all the way through.

Those were the only two pairs I had to really think more about, rest was pretty easy to decide.

See, that We Can't Be Stopped vs. The Resurrection was tricky for me as well, because I like Resurrection more, but think WCBS is a better, more important album, so I went with that. I agree with your sentiments on the Face/UGK matchup. Both classic albums, but if I had to give one of them up, it'd be The Diary.

We Can't Be Stopped is another album I've never heard :francis:

I went back and copped Grip It! - cause I was under the impression that was the one. Album was nice too :wow:

The Diary vs. Ridin Dirty was the hardest choice for me. Went with The Diary simply because I think the best songs on there are better than the best songs on Riding Dirty.

Plus White Sheet and Jesse James might be my favorite just straight up "gangsta rap" rap songs ever

"I see your mama in the waiting room, steady crying
I see your ass in the doctor's arms, slowly dying
Now talk that shyt that you was talking to your homie
bytch you should have shot me when you pulled your fukking pistol on me"

Nobody makes that cold shyt like Face. shyt still gives you chills

lol, I've been bumping Geto Boys/Face for the past couple hours. Went from WCBS to TDDUP to MSIB, and now TWIY, with The Diary due up next. Will probably bump Facemob's album after that. Gonna end up riding the rest of the night to them boys
