Future is in third right now breh. He's being held back by the fact that he's not a good rapper.
Drake's only album in 2015 was the Future album and that shyt was panned for the most part. Hotline Bling wasn't even a rap song.

Kendrick's album was better than Doc 2 - but Doc 2 was nice

Future may be a "bad" rapper but he still dropped a critically acclaimed album and four mixtapes (Monster, Beast Mode, 56 Nights, WATTBA). Dude had a flat-out dominant year and ran the streets.

Drake dropped the Future album, If You're Reading This It's Too Late (retail mixtape), and dropped Back to Back on Meek (that beef was the highlight of the year). If You're Reading This wasn't panned and What A Time wasn't exactly a critical flop either although it could have been better the streets was fukking with it HEAVY.

I disagree. I like Pimp but I've never seen critics dikkride an album crazy like that and the reception be so lukewarm outside. Pimp might be the most critically acclaimed album in hip hop history think about that. I think Game rapped better than Kendrick on his album too.
2014 is Gibbs all day.
That Cole album was weak...like clock radio speakers.
Gibbs didn't have the impact. My criteria is about impact on the culture and music quality. I thought FHD was bland but it did have some really good songs overall. The 2014 thread is gonna be interesting.

@Inspect Her Deck my nikka Bobby Shmurda better be on that poll

So give him another award. Best rapper would be silly for him.

I thought that dropped 2014?

Good point.

ok. I liked Game's album too.
Gibbs didn't have the impact.
Can't argue that.

Ultimately, music quality comes first for me. I'm old and I don't have to pretend to like garbage.

If you gonna vote for Shmurda then he will be but let's wait for that thread anyway. Won't be upcoming tbh...

Drake and Future RAN 2015 :stopitslime:

I'd give it to them on some Grant Hill/Jason Kidd '94 RoY shyt :manny:

The Game rapped better than Kendrick on The Documentary 2, only Lupe stans cared about Lupe :mjlol:

Buddens dropped at least a top 5 album in 2015 as well. This place is weird sometimes deadass. :scust:

Also, J. Cole dropped 2014 Forest Hills Drive in December. All of the albums impact and singles came in 2015.

2014 was weak as hell so we might have to give Cole that year anyway. :francis:

2015 was low key :blessed:...

I feel like some rappers like pusha t, lupe and the game rapped better than kendrick did on TPAB but overall i think TPAB is the best project so I just gave it to him. :yeshrug:
