Muddy Waters had a lot of similar sounding samples to other tracks

I know Illadelph came out that year too and the beat on Section is remarkably similar to Iz He 4 Real

Rock Da Spot has some short sample of Biggie's Unbelievable

I think Superman Luva III has a slowed down sample of Nas' One Love
Cold getting dumb.
Mary Jane.

One knock on Muddy Waters is the samples were a bit to familiar.
But that didn't bother me one bit :banderas:

This was Kendrick first and Nas second for that year far and above anyone else

Then after that you got Killer Mike, Big KRIT, Lupe Fiasco (F&L II wasnt too bad to me), Kanye (Cruel Summer), Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Joey Badass (I know it was a mixtape but 1999 was just great), 2 Chainz (Arvydas Sabonis rookie award), Nicki, Homeboy Sandman, Meek Mill and Rick Ross.
:salute:
You always got good choices breh.
I thought the Lupe album was :trash:and wasn't the Chainz album a disappointment too?

Nas for me, Life is Good is crazy

I'm a big Kendrick fan but GKMC is my least favorite album of his, I still can't get into it outside of a few songs

GFID was meh.
Off the top of my head...

Pirates
Sixteen
Amsterdam
Presidential
Ashamed
Maybach Music IV
3 Kings
Ten Jesus Pieces
Diced Pineapples

Too much quality shyt for a simple "meh" :patrice:
It's better than F&L :youngsabo:
And it's probably better than Blu and Exile too, at a minimum, it's up there with it.
Kendrick doesn't even believe that :pachaha:

nikka ain't fukking with Lu or Blu :mjlol:

Been a minute since I listened to it but I'd put Saigon's debut up there in that excellent debut category too :ehh:

Lupe's music isn't that good. F&L was crazy back then, but didnt hold up. The Cool was a step down.

I haven't listened to Blu in a long time. There were a couple of beats I wasn't crazy about on that album as I recall.

You right about Saigon.
