No it wasn't. Jay had "been in the game" since 88, and It Was Written was not "meh". Jay lying to say "he's been in this 5" is one of the false facts you accused Ether of having.

The truest line spoken was that Jay had either mentioned Nas, quoted his lines, or sampled Nas in every one of his albums up till that point (and beyond).

"Hawaiin Sophie fame, kept my name in his music" is more factually correct on the professional tip than anything spoken on Takeover. Not to mention the angle of Jay being a wave rider and hanging or attaching himself to other hot artist.
Pop shyt apologize...

Nas is proud of his first guest appearance on Live at the BBQ, which is why he claims his 91 debut....Jay ain't proud of his, which is why Nas wouldn't let him get away with the lie that he was in rap for 5 years...On a professional level, that's scathing.

Yeah - to use different measures for how long they had been in the game was dishonest.

Damn I forgot about Foxy and Broken Silence:ohhh:

Oh Yeah was a fukking Summer Jam that year:banderas:

Yo you know what's crazy about 2001? Every individual member of the Original Firm crew came back strong that year with credible albums that really reminded people they were dope (Az with 9 Lives, Cormega with the Realness, Foxy Brown with Broken Silence and Nas with Stillmatic)

New York was on fukking fire:lawd:

Busta was strong with the Gensis album too and Erik Sermon's Music was big:gladbron:

You had De La too, Fab's album which in retrospect is not bad even though I didnt really fukk with it like that back then

Seriously this year does not get enough credit as being a great year for NY even in the face such a weird tragedy

And I found it weird he said that considering that before Blueprint, IWW was better than all his albums but Reasonable Doubt
Yeah - he was applying drastically different standards to himself, which is fine, he should in a battle, talk that shyt, but then don't come back and try to claim the diss is all facts.

I think a bit of both. He wasn't so far gone to have completely lost it so he had a chance to roar back at Jay but he went for the self destruct option lol.

Tbh if Jay didn't react so badly to Nas' Ether it wouldn't have been as effective. Jay made it worse.
If the Jay P beef had been 96-99, it would have played out completely differently.
