Alive for 3 months, take home the title :lawd:

if only he lived longer
:mjcry:

Biggie's been in two polls: 1994 and 1997. Took 2nd place in 1994 to Nas (could easily have won) and will now win this year's MVP. Prolific track record. Who knows what his discography would look like down the line.

I've always felt like had he lived Life After Death would have had an It Was Written like reaction (Huge on the charts but attacked for its crebility from Hip Hop heads. Not only would have gotten some hate from West Coast fans but New York was starting to have the Jiggy vs backpack civil war of 96-01.) But it would have still been a classic of sorts.

true

I mean you had Wu fans upset at Wu Forever because it sounded different to the grimy 36 Chambers even though that album was hip hop in its purest and most luxurious form in terms of authentic production and high level lyricism.

I can only imagine what reception Biggie would have received had he stayed alive for a while after its release.

Oh okay...so now for this year, your only criteria you've had (album release that calendar year) changes only
because of Pac.

And then, choosing tracks and song sequencing by the rapper matters now - like you know all these rappers
selected the tracks and sequencing on their own...

And then, after all that you gonna put WILL SMITH on the poll who hardly wrote anything on his album -
even though these threads are supposedly not about the popularity or success, but who were the better rappers.

Like I said:

Like I said:

no it doesn't change...but we haven't encountered the whole posthumous situation till now, so I'm addressing it

If I put Pac now, I'm gonna put him for so many albums down the line and same with Biggie. I'm sticking to their official studio albums that they had a hand in releasing, not just writing songs. Again, you know what the difference between RUSD and LAD is...you're playing dumb.

I put Will Smith on because someone requested to vote for him.

If you don't like it, you can leave. Nobody forcing you to stay.

EDIT: under your rule, I might as well start adding compilation albums and 'Best of' albums. What happens if I put Ice Cube's greatest hits in a certain year? He should be the MVP for sure...
