Like 85-90% of the music I listen to is hip hop but I don't even know if my favorite album of 1997 is a rap album.
OK Computer is definitely up there with Wu-Tang Forever.
And I'm not even that big into rock
Since this thread is about any and everything other than 86, that Clue Back To School mixtape from 94
Redman - Smoke A Blunt TooThat tracklisting
We talk a lot about sales, but we don't ever take into consideration how mixtapes and bootlegs really cannibalized east coast sales.
Look at that track listing.
If I had $10 and could only get the Clue tape or one album from 94, I'm getting that Clue tape.
Yeah. Assuming you had unlimited funds, mixtapes would have been great for that. But most of us were broke kids back then. It was a zero sum game. You had to make the best out of the limited money you had. Those tapes seemed at the time like a great way for one to decide what album they would like to get if they could. A lot of Tical is on there and Dare iz a Darkside.
Plus that single off Liquid Swords
That was originally on the Soundtrack for Fresh I believe. It had been out for a long time before Liquid Swords. Heaven and Hell and the Can it Be all so simple remix were on that soundtrack as well.Plus that single off Liquid Swords
I should have ask drop top 25
real talk.... doesn't matter '92 is nowhere on '97 level
Run and DMC
aint gon lie, the earlier the 80s, the harder it is to be sure without voting for who was the famous back then
Those first four albums were overrated commercialized nonsense albums that was the beginning of the end
U picking 97 cuz it was undoubtedly bad boys years but bad boy rap catalogue outside biggie was average as fukk
98 was better than 97...
