but other then that I would try the SM7B, MJ used it for the thriller album...don't expect to sound exactly like MJ though for one you aren't MJ and 2 you don't have top mixers/engineers working on your stuff...

that mic is awesome...and craaaazy sensitive. that shyt will pick up your stomach rumbling if you haven't eaten in awhile.

i'd go with sm7b or RE20 + golden age preamp or the RNP as stated before

MXLv67 is good for the money but you way want to get it modded...

AmericanMusical.com lets you make payments on a lot of their stuff. I picked up my avalon 737 from them and my avantone cv-12 which is a HIGHLY slept on mic. At $500 this mic smashes the competition. I have a blue bird mic that did well for a long time but I was ready to upgrade so I went with the cv-12. The avalon really changes the game for your vocals though. When the time comes and the money is right, you won't regret getting an avalon.
