Dawn of the Dead remake was actually good though :ld:

I seem to be in the small minority of people who don't like the movie. I'm probably a lot tougher on the movie than I should be because the original Dawn of the Dead is my favorite horror movie.. and feel the 2004 version really doesn't deserve to be linked to such a classic movie.. I know they had to call it Dawn of the Dead because it's a zombie movie that takes place in a Mall, and if they just tried to do a stand alone movie with a different name it wouldn't have been as profitable and probably would scream "Rip-Off", but the two movies have nothing really in common.

The epilogue to the movie is very well done, and I'm able to look past the running zombies which I'm typically not a fan of, I just hated how all of the characters are basically unlikable.. and it's more of an action thriller than a straight up horror flick.

The original had that great social commentary that was a hallmark of Romero's early "Dead" work and I love it for that but I also dig the remake because it decided it was going to just be a balls to the wall zombie action movie and did it very well.

And he took the conceit and made it his own

I watched the remake before the OG, and while the OG was good, I still preferred the remake.
