Shawn Marion, Trenton Hassell, and Marques Maybin in Clarksville, TN.

Y'all know who Shawn Marion is, and he'll never claim Clarksville, always says he's from Chicago:shaq2:. Anyway...he was like 6'6" back then and could jump out of the gym. He was recruited by Tennessee, Cincinnati and some other larger schools, but had to go to Vincennes Junior College because of grades. Nobody expected him to end up being an NBA all-star and having the career he did.

Trenton Hassell was Shawn Marion's teammate at Clarksville High in the 90's. Turned down major schools to stay home and play at Austin Peay. Got drafted early in the 2nd round and went on to play in the league for 10 years.

Marques Maybin was across town at Clarksville Northwest. Most people thought he was the best of the three back then. Was like 6'3", averaged like 30 points a game. Could jump out the gym and shoot from all over the court. He signed with Tennessee out of high school, didn't the grades or test score (forgot which one), so he sat out a year and was a star at Louisville. He ended up playing in Europe for a few years until he got in a motorcycle accident back in Clarksville and is in a wheelchair now. His son is Jalen Reeves-Maybin, the linebacker at Tennessee.

Oh yeah, and John Henderson at Pearl-Cohn in Nashville. Dude was like 6'7" and 250, playing varsity ball in the 9th grade. They used to call him Baby Shaq. He ended up playing football at Tennessee, becoming an All-American, and having a long NFL career.
