@rantanamo @Spade @dtownreppin214 & other Texas posters on here mght remember these guys.
I saw Kenyon Martin play when he was in high school, he was prob the most dominant from a physical aspect. I remember once I was sitting in the stands and he swatted a shot away from the paint and the ball landed right next to me. As a kid I was like
But the 2 best players I ever saw in person were this dude named Charles Tatum & Roosevelt Brown
- Tatum was a PG from Midland TX(west Texas), and I think he went to Univ of Arkansas to play ball but he got hurt befoer the season or something. To this day, I've yet to see a player more dominant. I remember one dude on our high school team was, "Yo, this dude don't miss
" And it was true, I don't think he missed much. 3 ball, long range 2, driving in the paint.....money almost everytime. Short, stocky dude built like a bowling ball and played like a prime Deron Williams.
- Other dude was Roosevelt Brown....I think he got a scholly at UT, but he never played for some reason and was later kicked off the team. He was from Duncanville (which at the time was a hotbed of of bball talent) and had jumper that was un-guardable, could breakdown anybody with his dribble and if he was remotely open his shot was going in. I remember one game he started like 9/9 from 3pt land.
It makes you appreciate how good talent is at a D1 level that dudes can be monsters in high school and not make it at the next level.
