Ok I used sporting waves. I don't like to put anything that thick on my hair.

Ya I stopped using pomades a while ago. Just use olive oil, pink, or something a bit less thick now.

Keep a spray bottle with distilled water to moisturize.

Sportin Wave...you ain't real until you have used Sportin Waves, 360 wave, Dax, Pink, and royal Grease....

and then realize all you needed for waves was some shea butter and a brush.

Leaves me looking ashy/pale (I'm dark skin). My hair is thick (thinned over the years though) and very straight.

Target always has it. Walmart, The Vitamin Shoppe and Bed Bath & Beyond carry it and a men's line as well.
