It's crazy how unkind time has been to Black Moon :mjcry:
I feel like in the 90s this would have been a no brainer for Enta Da Stage :mjcry:
I personally felt Dah Shinin was better the first time I heard it. It was better lyrically and Da Beatminerz had gotten better. Plus Buckshot himself improved after he changed up his style. Dah Shinin kinda set the tone for all Bootcamp released after that imo

Thought you meant For The People/The Chosen Few/The Last Stand, tho:pachaha:

...Enter Da Stage stated it off, but I just can't chose between Da Shinin or Nocturnal:wow:

That's my childhood:blessed:

I loved Enta Da Stage. You have to admit though it hasn't aged as well as Dah Shinin or Nocturnal.
I think it comes down to the era. By the time Dah Shining came out, there was a solid blueprint for grimy east coast hip hop, in large part due to RZA and DJ Premier. So Smif N WEssun were able to rework that formula and find a sound that worked for them.
On the other hand, Enta Da Stage came out after the jazz-hip hop era, but before 36 Chambers and Illmatic. So its this fusion between hardcore lyrics and jazzy beats. the Beatminers borrowed from Pete Rock and Q Tip, making their beats more minimalist and gritty.

And that was ill. But it doesnt sound modern in the same way that Dah Shining does. Dudes are still working wit that post Premo, post RZA East Coast style... but you'll never hear a producer try to replicate the early Pete Rock style - jazz samples filtered through an MPC so you can only hear the baseline and the drums.
Anyways, Ive heard that whole style comes from producers trying to hide their samples so they wouldn't get sued :ehh:

It's tough.

Dah Shinin' was easily The Beatminerz at their best. But Enta Da Stage was so raw and about a track away from being a perfect album, so I have to go with Buck on this one. But these two have always been mad close in quality. There's really no right answer.

Respect! What do you think of The chosen few album? What do you feel are the best group and solo albums from BCC? I respect your opinion.

Now I gotta bump Dah Shinin again.

Very few albums that capture the grit of 90s Brooklyn as well as that album did
