Read his book.
Own it actually.

"Maybe You Never Cry Again."

The story about his homeboy being killed by some crazy GF was heartbreaking.

I was thinking the same thing.

Its a testament and actually a compliment to Bernie and his legacy that, to my knowledge, he lived a pretty uncontroversial life. Was married to the same woman all his life. Never heard of no sidechicks, no drug issues, no scandals.

Dude literally was funny as hell and grinded his way to the top without selling his soul. I’d love to see a documentary

And IIRC, didn't he have his own comedy club? Or comedy night where he put people on?

A documentary about that and his overall impact on black stand-up and stand-up as a whole would be WAY better than a biopic that just leads up to watching an actor pretend to be him and die.

We should be celebrating Bernie, not reenacting his demise.

Are you talkin about his memoir? If so, the audiobook is on YT for anyone who'd like a listen.

When he was talking about his grandfather, Ol' Man McCullough, and using big words, I fell out my seat.

"38 Centipede!!!"

Speaking of making him gay. I wonder if they'll include his gay nephew joke. Doubt it but we'll see.
