Former undisputed middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins, 50-years-old, is very willing to entertain the idea of facing the current rule of his former weight class, IBO/WBA middleweight king Gennady "GGG" Golovkin.

Hopkins, who moved up to the light heavyweight division several years ago and captured the WBC/WBA titles, is looking to close out his career with one final fight against a very dangerous opponent.

"I was the middleweight terror for twelve years of my career," Hopkins told BoxingScene.com. "You have guys turning down $2 million dollars not to fight this guy. I would have fought him for $50 thousand back then because I wanted to show that I was the best fighter in my weight division."

"The only guy out there that nobody wants to fight, that I see, between 160 and 168 - is Triple G. Oscar called out Triple G so now they are going 'now Bernard is calling out Triple G' and someone will try to talk me out of it. It has to be weight situation on both sides, but it's good to see a middleweight guy like Triple G dominating like I was dominating back then."

"But if I was going to fight anybody out there, where I had to be on my A-game, it would be that fight."

GGG dropped kovalev in sparring
And? Kovalev has been dropped a few times in his career. He's a bit chinny.

Also, receipts on GGG knocking him down? The most I've ever seen was that video of breh saying when they sparred GGG came out on the better.

No one's punching at 160lbs put Hop in difficulty.

And? Kovalev is a prime and legit two weight classes above him.

Kovalev has admitted to it.

My point is hurting Kovalev =/= hurting Hopkins. Kovalev will probably by KO'ing heavyweights before his career is over with, but there are legit questions about his chin. Hop has one of the GOAT chins. Going off the logic that Kovalev hurt Hopkins so of course GGG will doesn't add up. There's no one GGG has hurt that measures up to that, and if GGG can't hurt Hopkins, that's a very, very tough fight for him to win.
Oh lord, here we go
:dwillhuh: What? The biggest puncher at 175 punched Hop around so someone two divisions down is going to do the same ?:why:

:dwillhuh: u mentioned that 175 and 160 was different when it comes to power which it is and I just gave u a example of how he hurt someone in that weight class, proving that his power can move up.

And I mentioned that questions about Kovalev's chin exist so him hurting Kovalev doesn't mean all that much. We're talking about if GGG can hurt Hopkins, one of the toughest fighters of all time. Being able to hurt Kovalev doesn't mean he can hurt Hopkins.

Why is that difficult to understand?

Tito threw Joppy's brain in the bushes. Couldn't hurt Hopkins. Tarver's power gave Roy problems in the first fight, and KO'd him in the second, couldn't hurt Hopkins. Do you see a trend there?

U don't know that for a fact, fact is he hurt someone at 175 proving he can possibly hurt anyone at 175.
