It's cool, i don't know why but i prefer Conway's music more :manny:I'm definitely checking out this album though.
Same. And the entire situation flipped for me. 2019 had Conway's worst 2 projects. Food 3 and What I Became were just more of the same super goon bars over less good production. I thought Conway was running out of steam. Benny that same year was elevating and killed it that same summer with Plugs I Met. I thought Benny was so much more interesting as an artist.

Fast forward 18 months to now, and it's flipped for me. King to a God still might be my favorite album of 2020, and the guy's opening up about mental health, and releasing songs about PTSD, alcoholism, infidelity, his stillborn child, cousin's suicide, police brutality, getting abused as a child, and all types of shyt. His three 2020 projects all sounded different, and King to a God was him really delivering on the most complete body of work yet.

At first I thought Benny was the one that would sound so much better on production outside of Daringer and Alchemist, but when I hear Benny over Hit-Boy, Harry Fraud and 808 Mafia---compared when I hear Conway over Hit-Boy, Bink, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Erick Sermon, 9th Wonder, Khrysis, AraabMuzik, and Cardiak, I actually think Conway is the one that I want to hear more of outside of Daringer and Alchemist.

I'm still all in for Plugs 2. But yeah. I agree.

Yea i'm still rocking with From King To God almost a year later, i'm guessing this might be Benny's version of that project since he said it's gonna be more about lessons he had to deal with in his life so i'm not counting his out just yet. Conway just seems more like a complete artist now, i'm waiting for Benny to also show that other side of storytelling so he can elevate more.

That gives me some more hope. I love that type of content.

No doubt. I'm starting to talk in circles, but Conway went from just being John Wick on every joint to suddenly giving lots of content, and it's very dope.

Benny got some joints though. I wanna give him his due. Stuff like Langfield, Babs, New Streets and Trade It All are all really good at storytelling and letting us into his life a bit more.

Eh. Slow down champ. Let’s not act like Conway didn’t release that underwhelming project with Big Ghost. That shyt was extremely mid. No way this Benny/Fraud project underperforms that throwaway shyt. Up until this very moment there’s no debate who has put out the better solo projects. Benny & it ain’t close.

Yea those tracks he’s shown what he’s capable of so I know we can get something just like those above. This new single also has that content so at least he is switching it up a bit. Even this old joint shows the storytelling he’s capable of.

You’re right, but I think most of us knew that Big Ghost project would be very average. Conway shows him love for helping him out so early, but their work is always very fast food. And it even gets released as Big Ghost with Conway as the featured artist. He sleepwalked through it and recorded it in a weekend. I actually was hoping he either wouldn’t release it or just wait until after God Don’t Make Mistakes. I think King to a God and God Don’t Make Mistakes would’ve been a powerful statement.

I know you know from the shyt he’s got cooking in the stove, that he’s got incredible music on deck.

And I agree Benny has released the best projects of anyone in Griselda so far, but King to a God is way closer to Tana Talk 3 and Plugs 1 quality than most people want to admit. It’s right up there, and with time it might even be looked at on the same level.

how I walk into this thread ands its about Meth lifting ?

did Benny pick this from a 2011 Fraud beat pack or something ?
beat sounds too cheap for Fraud this many years in. claps and drums are clashing with the sample.
I think a mod merged the thread about Meth lifting 475 with this thread somehow :mjlol:

But I gotta agree on the beat. The times I’ve heard it from Conway, Royce, and Snoop I liked more.
