Am I the only one who thinks this 38 spesh guy complete jacked Danny Brown's style on his verse? From the flow to the voice, everything. I'm not familiar with his music, but he can't seriously be doing this all the time.

:patrice:Honestly you might be breh. To be fair to you his voice does sound slightly different on this song than usual, but so does Jadakiss. So I don't know if there is something off in the mix, or if there was a cold going around. So that may explain the voice part. But Spesh's flow has pretty much been like that for well over a decade. He's got music from the mid 00's that's got the same general flow. Spesh has been rapping forever and is just starting to take off on a more popular but he's super original breh.

It’s worth giving him another chance and peep his project with Benny called Stabbed & Shot or his new project called a Bullet for Every Heathen. I think you might dig him if you like goon music. He's got a lot of funny bars without really trying to make it sound funny. He and the whole Trust crew from upstate New York (which Benny is a part of) are vets in the game and are all pretty original.

All these are dope and I never would’ve thought Danny Brown on any of them.

Didnt Shady open the doors for the G Unit wave?

The Roc damn near broke up when aligning with Dipset.
I’m not sure what either point has to do with Jay/Roc Nation being a better fit IMO than Shady. I posted what you quoted before I knew it was just Benny. Knowing it’s just Benny makes me want to double down. And I know a few artists that work with RN that are happy, and it’s hard to find many Shady artists that ever were happy.

But to answer your question, I’m sure the Shady/Interscooe machine helped G-Unit. Did they open the doors for the wave? I don’t know. G-Unit made themselves dope on the mixtape scene prior to, but there’s no question that Em helped. It was also a totally different era.

And yeah. The Roc pretty much fell apart. But there was a lot of friction between Jay and Cam and in hindsight The Roc was never destined to keep going much longer than it did. Rocafella has been dead for so long I’m not sure what it has to do with Benny or Griselda today.
