Alchemist made half the beats on TT4 I don't follow
Gibbs delivery appeals to mainstream audiences more than Benny. In the one thread about the two of them people were making fun of the way Gibbs rapped a out how it sounded like agibadibadibadibadibdibba but for mainstream audiences the delivery, flow, cadence is more important than what you say. I like the way Gibbs and benny rap myself.
I'm going to make another thread to see what people value in their rap music and I think I got a good example.

Its because all he talks about is pushing drugs and being a street dude, which, ALOT of MCs do, but he doesn't do it with any sort of originality.Almost like making regressive throwback music and not evolving with the market puts you in a small bubble, makes it hard to gain new fans, and makes the departure of existing fans really hit your pockets hard. Who could have possibly predicted this....
Going back to my previous post about how Gibbs made it work for him...
Gibbs made it work because he is a wordsmith who really mastered the MC game and also ... can spit deep lyrics / other shyt about just drugs, and make it comical or even just crazy out of perspective ... just making up shyt that sounds crazy.
Benny aint got that ... all he has is basic drug raps with just decent MC skills which for some reason everyone in the US is gassing up like hes the new Jay Z but those same heads wont turn out to his show ... cos they dont even believe that shyt.
Benny needs to relax and branch out into some more creative shyt. Even his project with Hitboy was mid .... it jus sounded like outdated 06 hip hop rather than rejuvinated version of that like what alc or madlib are doing.
