Hip hops competitive, has been forever… just seems the way this site especially tries to amplify the shyt starts to take away from the music. It’s at the point where nobody is appreciative of the fire we just got, and instead everyone ends up looking for ways to critique and pick apart one verse to make their favorite artists seem superior

This makes me mad about J Cole's music. The man needs to challenge himself by focusing on rapping for the most part and then choosing the rappers he respects the most so that he goes as hard as he does on all these features. I'd never say Cole is a better artist than Kendrick but he has way more clear verses where you go damn this got might be the best rapper right now.

Cole's lyrics have been on point like this for a while now. I've mentioned it before, but it's hard to point to another rapper who's gotten this much better lyrically over time as he has. Lyrically, I started noticing him really honing in on his verses around the time 4YEO came out. Musically that album is hit or miss, but the verses were good. Same goes for KOD. But after KOD, he's been on a tear with his releases and features. No denying it.

love the beat but it never suited Benny's usual delivery..its sounds like he's clashing with the sample but he finished the verse nicely.
Cole showed him how its done. revenge of the nerds ass verse but it in a good way.
