EXACTLY!

That is why this decision was idiotic. If there were ten seconds left and no timeouts, sure, go for it as you don't want to risk not getting the ball in O.T.

However, the Ravens were moving the ball (four straight drives) and had two timeouts. They only needed a FG.

Idiotic decision.

Yup

It's just awful coaching this season
Oh well....

I'm not opposed to teams going for two at the end to win it, but I hated that call in this situation.

-If you make it, Baltimore still has 35 seconds and a timeout to get into FG range. If you're worried about losing in O.T. because the Ravens were moving the ball, then you should be concerned with them getting into FG range with 35 seconds and a timeout left.

-If you miss it, it's over.

The risk/reward there was not worth it.

It made very little sense in this situation.

And it wasn't like the Ravens were driving up and down the field all 2nd half on them and they couldn't stop them.
The fumble gave them a short field for a score.
Poor tackling on an out route went for 86 yards.

I swear these coaches get into their own heads and thinking going for it means "we were trying to win it"..

Remember these teams played a few weeks ago and Cincy lost because they lost the coin toss, that was in Taylors mind in going for 2 I'm sure
Nah they lost after a LJ fumble and their coach not letting Burrow cook with the ball and overtime and putting the game in the hands of the kicker.

What a dumb decision to go for two.

This game was coming down to your defense being able to stop Lamar from getting into FG range whether you made the 2 or not. Why make it about whether your offense can convert a 2 too?? :mindblown:

Edit: to be clear, I’d be ok with the 2 if there was only a few seconds left on the clock. But with :38 seconds left, stopping Lamar is the already low probability task, why add a less than 100% success probability task for such little gain? It was an objectively terrible decision.
not that dumb a decision
pretty sure baltimore scored on four straight drives lol. fukk overtime. go for the win now

it was somewhat common for road teams to go for 2 in this scenario
not a big deal. the true fukk up was not kicking the field goal up 21-20

Because their D is trash and their offense is one of the best in the league. What kind of dumb ass question is this?

The point is this.

The Ravens were moving the ball four straight drives which is why the Bengals likely went for it. They didn't want to chance it in O.T.

However, even IF the Bengals converted a two point conversion there, the Ravens still had 35 second and two timeouts to get into FG range to WIN the game in regulation. It just makes very little sense in that situation. If there were ten seconds and no timeouts, I get it as there is a very small chance the Ravens would get a FG or a Hail Mary if they tried it. However, 35 seconds and two timeouts with a QB that can turn nothing into something is a lot of time.

Dumb decision.
