Henry Gates just needs to be quiet about it. He just made me not want to even watch the show because he writes, its OK to speak on "positive" things but as soon as you speak on the negatives, he sees nothing wrong with it? If he does or not, he should just not speak on it or just say that is Ben's decision but to make it is sound OK, makes me wonder what other things that might be edited out to keep thing nice. I like the hear the truth, good or bad, I don't want to be treated like a baby.
As far as Ben Affleck, the article wrote his family member was in the occult. I wonder if that knowledge was passed down to him. He may have used it to become the superstar he is now. I doubt that someone would be so well known for doing occultism, that we know this years later, and that knowledge wasn't passed on to future family members.
