"Laziness" is just a perception. Its just that highly intelligent people like to be efficient as fukk and view every decision through a cost-benefit lens in order to maximize efficiency.
i dunno, man. that sounds like a lot of work

on that next level laziness over here :jawalrus:

so necessity isn't the mother of invention. Laziness is :ohhh:

"Laziness" is a term that has been too charged negativelly imo. The thing is, being "lazy" is wanting to exert as little energy/effort possible in order to reach whatever goal. That can either be labelled "lazy" or, like @BaggerofTea expressed in the quote above, maximizing efficiency, which is the basis of economics. I'd much rather find a way to work 4 hours instead of 8 to reach the same result. Does that make me "lazy"? Or efficient?

And also, what do "lazy" people do when they/we ain't doing shyt? Mostly think and daydream. And yes, that's also how one might think of something new/creative.

This is definitely me. Although i feel I am above average book-smart wise, I'm no genius; it takes me entirely too long to absorb some complicated concepts.
This causes me to spend my time very preciously (usually).
Bingo!

To others it may seem like we are lazy, but i know for me, I'm thinking of creating something. Then when I do what I planned, it seems like it came out of nowhere, and something "God" did. I get the "you are so blessed" shyt all the time.

This study reminds me of how weed smokers are considered lazy, but for the actual users, we are enjoying what is going on in our heads!
I was just telling some friends about this. I dunno about the "stoner" culture, but I love the fact that I think about issues in a different manner while high. Its like getting a different perspective from the same person. Its great to me..

They tracked player movement on the basketball court (as in distance traveled while playing) for NBA players and LeBron James was near the bottom. Take from that what you will.

Exactly the cost of exerting energy, time and attention. Thinking through a situation, dialing in all the factors and delaying instant gratification prevents one from making the wrong decisions.

Interesting that the article conflates "thinkers" with "highly intelligent".

Intelligent is an ambiguous term, but most often in the media it's conflated with high IQ scores. And you don't need to have a high IQ score to be a thinker.
