I feel like we need to define what being a single mom is... If a lady gets married or has a long time boyfriend in the house is she still a single mom?

Most cats (including myself) even if we grew up with a "single mom" she was married and we had a stepfather for a considerable amount of time.

Obviously having a good mother makes a difference.

Yeah. One of the greatest men I know is a black surgeon who allowed me to shadow him over the years and will be writing me a letter of recommendation when I apply to Med School. Raves about his mother and how she stayed on him. Raised by her & a grandmother. When you're born into a single parent home society writes you off, so whether or not they're considered the exception, it's really nice to see people beat those odds with the help of a good support system.

he's the exception, not the rule. it's more likely that boys in his situation would try to become a rapper, ball player or drug dealer

This is a chick from LA that decided that being a single mother was a good idea, just like mom thought:

I see people are confusing being raised by a single mom and being raised without a positive male role model. Its the latter thats the problem but together they're deadly. Some of the most fukked up and chauvinistic guys I've met were only that way because their father encouraged it. These boys put their fathers on pedestals and its not until they hit their mid 20s that they realize their pops aint shyt. That they're making the same mistakes they're daddy made. My college roommate was the type, nikka couldnt think for himself:scusthov: nikka calling his pops cuz he didnt know what to do after he got 3 girls pregnant:wow: White boys are the worst OD that daddy shyt to the point where it severely stunts their growth.

My main downside of being raised by a single mom but having a positive male role models is that I respect these hoes too much :yeshrug:

I know when they do stats for single mothers they only count if the mother is married or not. It doesn't matter if she has a bf (even if he is the kid's father).

And only the exceptions would actually be successful rappers, ball players and drug dealers.

All people do is throw out exceptions. You can throw out exceptions all day people. It doesn't help your arguments. It can rain in the desert. That doesn't mean that a desert is the best place to plant your seeds.

Breh. You don't say.

I stated that strictly to avoid this response, as my reply had nothing to do with what is viewed as an exception(that much goes without saying) and more about admiration for a kid that society wrote off actually making something out of himself due in part to him having a great mother.

All these nicknames you're giving me. That means you care about me or I've emotionally done something to you. I still have no clue who you are. That's not the point though. The point is you claim to know me so well but I've never heard of you before. That makes you a stan. You're no different than some teenage girl stanning Justin Bieber and acting like she knows him yet Justin doesn't even know she exists. That's what you and everyone else who does that are.

It's not assumptions when there are raw numbers to support it, unlike your attacks on me which are 100% assumptions. Baseless ones at that!

I've never seen so much insecurity in one single post. :youngsabo:
