Yeah I understand it, it just ended up being that Craig's Bond is much less likeable as a result.
To me Brosnan's Bond had the right balance of high stakes and silliness. I'm not saying they're masterpieces but they're the bar for what I want out of these films.
Problem is I can't really think of anyone who fits the bill to take over, Idris is too old now but he would have been good about 10 years ago. Maybe Tom Hardy.
