i can’t hate bc this is a well written post but groupie therapy’s not mid

to answer OP im partial to labcab, held up better to me…production could still hit if it dropped today :hubie:
Yeah calling it mid might be a bit strong but it's probably my least favorite song on the first two albums that isn't a skit even if their great sense of humor is still present.

Labcabincalifornia's production does sound more modern which is likely why a lot of folks prefer it these days. It's smoother and more of a vibe. The high energy beats and rapping styles on the first album sound more idiosyncratic to modern listeners and I could see how someone who grew up on modern rap would think it's "doing too much" or straight up goofy.

Speaking of music that sounds modern I had on Fatlip's The Loneliest Punk and this shyt sounds like a lot of modern emo rap, tho he do come off a bit more pathetic lol. The modern emo rappers make it clear they still got money and hoes even if they depressed and suicidal.

you right but as someone who don't fukk with modern hip-hop production thats not a good thing.....I guess it depends on your personal taste

Hip-Hop sounded exactly how I wanted to sound in 1992.....most modern style production I find boring and generic and can't vibe with it at all
