Before Athens: 2.5/4 - JDW and Vikander are not even believable as a relationship in repair. Beckett makes so many dumb decisions it makes it hard to root for him, and the movie appears to be stalling.
When Beckett gets on the train to Athens, the movie starts turning into one of those great government conspiracy thrillers from the 70s with Robert Redford. It's fantastic; we never should've had to bother with the dead girlfriend subplot. JD has better chemistry with Krieps (the German activist) anyway.
Holbrook is great as the fast talking bureaucrat in the little screen time he gets. Washington takes an insane ECW-level bump near the end that made me say oh shyt out loud. Yeah, once he gets on the train the movie after that part is a 3.5 or 4 out of 5.
