After I watched Beckett I saw a review for it that said the movie was "competent and adequate" and I couldn't disagree with that assessment at all.
The beginning is slow and the lovers have no chemistry but I understand that they went to Greece to work on their problems. But when Nolan can do chemistry better than you, you're in trouble.

Dude makes every dumbass decision In the world. Who goes cross country driving late a night in the mountains. 20 minutes near the beginning should be cut out but the riot was cool.

If mid could be well executed, it would be this movie.

It’s not boring but the plot (once fully revealed) certainly was.

And yea, early on you might think maybe the movie is setting things up to go a certain direction with Alice Vikander’s character... but nope!

Which then makes you think... ok why was she even in this :ld:

Before Athens: 2.5/4 - JDW and Vikander are not even believable as a relationship in repair. Beckett makes so many dumb decisions it makes it hard to root for him, and the movie appears to be stalling.

When Beckett gets on the train to Athens, the movie starts turning into one of those great government conspiracy thrillers from the 70s with Robert Redford. It's fantastic; we never should've had to bother with the dead girlfriend subplot. JD has better chemistry with Krieps (the German activist) anyway.

Holbrook is great as the fast talking bureaucrat in the little screen time he gets. Washington takes an insane ECW-level bump near the end that made me say oh shyt out loud. Yeah, once he gets on the train the movie after that part is a 3.5 or 4 out of 5.

It was a decent watch, especially for a Netflix original. Don't think too long about the (pretty dumb) story though and the stuff with Vikander could've been cut down to 5 minutes max. But all in all, I was entertained.

I thought so too but not really. The street was crowded, if he missed or died from the jump, everyone stop and see it. Thats last thing the driver would want considering whats in the trunk.
