Did it without a lawyer and in a totally legal way too![banderas :banderas: :banderas:](https://www.thecoli.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/banderas.png)
The trick is that you wait until they send you the notice. It will give you the option to contest it in writing. The only bad part is that you have to be able to afford to pay the entire bail up front.
Send in the full amount along with a written version of your story that does not admit any guilt. This one that I just beat was for speeding. I gave a short bs story, and said that I never reached the speed that the officer wrote that I did on the ticket.
This was about three weeks ago, I just got this notice in the mail today. So far it's worked for me everytime.
Officers get paid overtime to show up in court when you contest their tickets, but I guess they don't get paid, are too lazy, or are just too flat out illiterate to bother writing out another report of what happened when they wrote the ticket in the first place.
The bail refunds are usually pretty quick to be sent out after the declaration. I expect to have mine in the mail in another two weeks or so.
edit: It looks like this is for a different ticket I received for not carrying proof of insurance during another time I got pulled over. I wonder if I contested this ticket with the wrong defense, but still beat it![dwillhuh :dwillhuh: :dwillhuh:](https://www.thecoli.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/dwill.png)
